He has openly discussed his pride in embracing his birthmark and the positive impact it has had on others, even when faced with advice to have it removed.

Oliver Stark has stated that he has never struggled with his birthmark and considers it a part of his natural appearance.
“People are really connecting to my birthmark,” Stark tells PEOPLE in this week’s issue. “I’m getting lots of messages from moms saying that their child has a birthmark on their face and it’s a huge boost of confidence to them. And I never thought that would be a thing, but apparently it is and I’m really happy if mine has managed to inspire some confidence in them.”

Stark has mentioned that he was once advised to have his birthmark removed, but he never took the suggestion seriously.
"I never really took it too seriously. People often kind of want to give you this compliment of like, 'Oh, you're so brave...' and I'm just like, 'It doesn't feel like that'. Because it's just never been one of the things I've been insecure about.

He said that he has never covered his birthmark for a role and that it has always been accepted as part of his appearance.
